Frequently Asked Questions
- Can someone who did not compete in a GAM or USGA event but is a good player also join the association?
- No. The programs for the Elite Player’s Association are designed for the elite player and the best way we know how to define that player is from his or her qualification to play in statewide or national events. The sponsors have a list of these players provided by the GAM.
- Why is the Kendall Academy and Miles of Golf sponsoring this association?
- There are several reasons. The staff of both organizations is filled with some of the best competitive golfers in the state. They truly believe they can help Michigan’s best players become better competitors, and there is joy in and of itself if they can accomplish this. They know that if they help the state produce better competitors, it will be a business success as well.
What other discounts in addition to the lesson and Maxx fitting discounts can I expect from the association?
- We will periodically have special offers for association members, but if discounts are the reason you want to join the association, you may be disappointed. What the association will offer is outstanding instruction and equipment selection and fitting. Hopefully you will find the prices of these services fair but be blown away by the quality.
- What are prices for equipment in the golf shop?
- Miles of Golf is a very large 10,000 sq. ft. golf shop that must have competitive prices to sell the volume it needs to support the shop. Our prices are largely the same as you see from the national retailers like Golf Galaxy, Edwin Watts, and Golfsmith. If you search the web, you will probably find some lower prices than ours. What is different is the care and expertise we take in helping you select and be fit for your clubs.
- Why is the Kendall Academy the largest golf teaching academy in the state?
- The Academy has a ten-year history of providing exceptional instruction. That history includes producing players that are some of the state’s finest (see list of top Academy students on the web site, www.milesofgolf.com/kaplayers). The instructors and the facility they teach from are the best in the state.
