Callaway has always produced high performance irons and 2022 continues the tradition with the introduction of the Rogue ST iron line up. This year Callaway is going all out on speed and forgiveness without sacrificing playability. The new Rogue ST Iron line features four different models: Rogue ST Max, Rogue ST Max OS, Rogue ST Max OS Lite, and the Rogue ST Pro, all built to fit a wide variety of golfers.
New technology for 2022 includes:
More Ball Speed from the all-new High Strength 450 A.I. Designed Flash Face Cup
An industry-first, they combined high strength 450 steel with A.I. designed Flash Face Cup. This delivers more ball speed and better ball speed consistency.
New A.I. Face Optimization for Speed, Launch and Spin
New A.I. Face Optimization is now applied to all the new Rogue ST iron models. It’s unique for each model and loft to create spin rate consistency across the face. It creates high launch and COR plus a more controlled landing angle to help hold greens.
Patented Urethane Microspheres for Pure Feel
Their patented urethane microspheres are now pushed further up the face in Rogue ST irons (up to the sixth groove) to enhance sound and deliver pure feel while maintaining fast ball speeds.
Now let’s take a deeper dive into each of the irons:
Rogue ST Max Irons
Here is some notable tech specific to the Rogue ST Max iron:
Precision Tungsten Weighting for Optimal Launch
Their new precision tungsten weighting features up to 62g of high-density tungsten, a 260% increase over MAVRIK. This provides improved launch conditions and maximizes speed across the face.
MAX Design for a Wide Range of Golfers
Rogue ST MAX are their longest Rogue ST irons, with refined game-improvement shaping for golfers who want incredible speed, forgiveness, and all-around iron performance.

Here are the average numbers of 10 shots caught on Trackman using Callaway Chrome Soft Golf Balls and the Project X Rifle 105 X-Stiff Shaft.
Ball Speed | Smash Factor | Launch Angle | Spin Rate | Carry Yardage | Total Yardage | Launch Direction | Height (Feet) |
126.8 | 1.43 | 15.7 | 4791 | 189.9 | 201.3 | -2.5 | 97 |
Final Note on the Max iron
Simply put, the Rogue ST Max is a beast. This iron provides great ball speeds at some impressive launch conditions to maximize distance. I will say hitting this iron makes you feel good when you watch the ball soaring through the air. In terms of feel, I can’t say this iron strays too far away from that classic Callaway feel which for some is fine, but others will notice a bit of a clicky sound.
Rogue ST Max OS Irons
Here is some notable tech specific to the Rogue ST Max OS iron:
Precision Tungsten Weighting for Optimal Launch
Their new precision tungsten weighting features up to 49g of high-density tungsten, a 188% increase over MAVRIK. It provides improved launch conditions and maximizes speed across the face.
MAX OS for Enhanced Confidence and Forgiveness
Rogue ST MAX OS irons are built with wide soles, enhanced offset, and a thicker topline vs. Rogue ST MAX. This provides confidence, high launch, and forgiveness for mid-to-high handicap players.
Standard 7 Iron Specs
LOFT | AVAILABILITY | STANDARD LENGTH | LIE | OFFSET (MM) |
28.5° | RH / LH | 37.00″ | 62.5° | 6.6 |

125.7 | 1.43 | 16.9 | 5082 | 186 | 195.8 | -3.4 | 102 |
Final Note on the Max OS iron
When you put the Max OS head down you immediately see where the forgiveness is coming from. The head is large, and the offset is prominent, but when you hit it, you just get results. Definitely calmer when compared to its Max brother this iron still produces great ball speed but at a more forgiving launch and spin. I expect to see a lot of people enjoying this iron.
Rogue ST Max OS Lite Irons
Here is some notable tech specific to the Rogue ST Max OS Lite iron:
Precision Tungsten Weighting for Optimal Launch
Our new precision tungsten weighting features up to 46g of high-density tungsten, a 188% increase over MAVRIK. This provides improved launch conditions and also maximizes speed across the face.
High Launching and Easy to Swing
Rogue ST MAX OS Lite irons are built with wide soles, enhanced offset, and a thicker topline vs. Rogue ST Max. The Lite version features more loft, lighter shafts and lighter swing weights to make these our easiest-to-swing model in the family.
Standard 7 Iron Specs
LOFT | AVAILABILITY | STANDARD LENGTH | LIE | OFFSET (MM) |
31.5° | RH / LH | 37.00″ | 62.5° | 6.1 |

Final Note on the Max OS Lite iron
“Lite” is right when it comes to this iron, just holding it in your hands you can immediately tell it’s made with some lighter materials. While I didn’t personally gain any clubhead speed, I can easily see certain golfers gravitating towards this iron as it is incredibly easy to swing the club.
Rogue ST Pro irons
Here is some notable tech specific to the Rogue ST Pro iron:
Precision Tungsten Weighting for Optimal Launch
Their new precision tungsten weighting features up to 48g of high-density tungsten, a 188% increase over MAVRIK. This provides improved launch conditions and maximizes speed across the face.
Compact, Workable Shape
Rogue ST Pro irons are designed using hollow body construction to deliver the look and feel of a player’s performance iron, with the distance and forgiveness of a game improvement iron.

Final Note on the Pro iron
Wow, what an iron this is! I can’t say enough good things about it: the feel, the look, the sound. This iron is truly the complete package, not to mention the performance. I was actually swinging this iron about 3mph faster than the other heads, that being said this iron still blew my mind with the ball speed being generated combined with some impressive launch. Callaway might have just redefined the players performance category.
My Takeaway
Callaway does it again. Bringing to the table some pretty incredible irons. With these four irons golfers of all skills and handicaps will be able to find what they are looking for. I will say to anyone interested in purchasing these irons I recommend coming into Miles of Golf and getting fit, that way you can truly maximize the performance of these beauties!
