Washtenaw County 2021 Top Golfers Ranking

Tyler Copp, the 2020 Michigan Amateur Champion, had another great year and is again the Washtenaw County Player of the Year. His 2020 Michigan Amateur win became even more special because he defeated James Piot, the current US Amateur Champion, in the finals. In 2021, he was the medalist in the 2021 Michigan Amateur stroke play qualifier and finished tied for 9th in the GAM Championship.

A highlight of the local golf scene was the Ann Arbor Skyline H.S. State Championship. This is a very young team and we should see many more years of outstanding play from them.  Freshman Leuan Jones finished 4th in the county honor roll list. Ashley Mantha, the Skyline girls and boys golf coach was also named coach of the year.

Another highlight was the tie for 10th finish of Suzy Green-Roebuck in the US Women’s Senior Championship. Suzy, a past LPGA player, is the daughter of renowned Michigan golfer Pete Green.
