By Ken Johns, Master Putter Fitter
At Miles of Golf, club fitting is the core of our business. We began fitting customers 25 years ago and have been nationally recognized as an industry leader ever since. And although putter fittings are relatively new (last 8 years), it may be the most important fitting we do at Miles of Golf. During a round of golf, a player may hit that new, expensive custom driver 14 times but will more than likely exceed 30 strokes with that old, hand me down putter. The saying goes “drive for show but putt for dough” and a truer statement has never been uttered, so why not make sure that putter fits you as well. We use Science and Motion to measure your stroke during our putter fittings. This system allows us to analyze your stroke and make suggestions on head style, loft, length, and lie. Once the putter is calibrated, the player hits putts and we look at his or her tendencies; alignment, path, face at impact, rotation and where they hit it on the face. We also look at the timing and the consistency of your stroke. This process allows us to gather information that cannot be seen by the naked eye and the biggest takeaway for the customer is the understanding of your tendencies. At the end, you will have all the information necessary to determine if you need a new putter, have your current putter adjusted or maybe a lesson will be recommended. We simply want you to play better golf and will work to get you moving in that direction. Book your putter fitting today! Ken can be reached at kjohns@milesofgolf.com
