Titleist T-Series Iron Review (2023)

The two year life cycle has ended for 2021 T-series irons and the 2023 T-series has begun. Titleist’s new iron lineup consists of the T100—The Modern Tour Iron, T150–-The Faster Tour Iron, T200—The Players Distance Iron, and T350—The Ultimate Game Improvement Iron.

Titleist’s iron fitting philosophy is built on three dimensions of performance: distance control, dispersion control, and descent angle. Finding the best balance of these three dynamics can help a player achieve better performance and consistency.

Distance Control:

  • Maximizing carry distance while maintaining a consistent 5 mph gap in ball speed between each club allows for a 10-12 yard gap. This aids in playability and predictability.

  • Titleist believes a player may need a blended set of irons to achieve ideal gapping.

Dispersion Control:

  • Per Titleist, this is analyzing the left to right variance across different models and mixes.

  • A well fit set will keep you closer to the target and in a better position to score more often.

Descent Angle:

  • Descent angle or landing angle is the angle at which the ball hits the ground.

  • Descent angle is highly correlated to height and determines the bounce and roll of a golf shot.

  • The ability to stop the ball will lead to greater yardage predictability and more scoring opportunities. Titleist’s goal is to design a set of irons that ensures every shot will land steep enough to stop: from the shortest iron in your bag to the longest.

The Lineup

T100 (The Modern Tour Iron)

  • The iron that is played by more touring professionals than any other iron in the world.

  • The T100 is designed for the better player looking for precision, control, and feel with a blade-like appearance.

  • The refined, fully forged dual cavity construction features an enhanced back bar to allow for a more solid feel at impact.

  • With input from the world’s best players, Titleist believes the NEW T100 provides the stability and sensation that the world’s best want from a pure shot.

  • Titleist engineers were able to utilize D18 tungsten and a 2000 degree aerospace brazing process to eliminate weld points and be more precise with the center of gravity.

  • Furthermore, the T100 benefits from a new precision CNC milled face and a subtle shift in center of gravity, resulting in more control.

  • The New T100 is roughly 5% smaller than the prior generation, appealing to players who prefer a more traditional aesthetic.

T150 (The Faster Tour Iron)

  • T150 is built on the same fully forged platform as the T100, but engineered to be faster and longer.

  • Taking the place of the previous generation T100S, T150 is roughly 5% larger than its predecessor, giving a confidence inducing shape and added forgiveness.

  • T150 fits a player looking for the same feel and precision of T100, but is looking for added distance and forgiveness.

  • If you are a player who loves the look and feel of the old AP2s, then look no further than the NEW T150.

  • The loft of T150 is 2* stronger than T100, has a refined muscle channel, and updated shape for enhanced feel and forgiveness compared to T100.

T200 (Players Distance Iron)

  • This iron fits the player who wants help gaining yardage without sacrificing look, feel, or trajectory.

  • Titleist’s goal with T200 is improved feel and sound. The previous generation lacked the feel and sound that is normally associated with Titleist irons. They recognized this and made it a priority.

  • The internal construction has been reengineered with a more stable chassis, refined max impact technology—the stabilizing force placed behind the face for consistent yardage, and a new dual taper face to deliver maximum speed and tour level feel.

T350 (The Ultimate Game Improvement Iron)

  • T350 fits the player who wants more yardage, more height, and as much forgiveness as possible.

  • Titleist implemented a new hollow body construction, which is based on the T200 chassis that is more common on tour.

  • This chassis includes the max impact tech, dual taper forged face, and tungsten weighting, giving T350 a refined feel and sound that all players will enjoy.

Conclusion

After two years of advanced engineering and refinement, Titleist has once again made an unbelievable iron lineup.

By making the T100 a little smaller and more blade-like, it should catch the eye of any player seeking that traditional player's iron with added tungsten for increased control and precision.

T150 is perfect for the golfer looking for a head shape more akin to T100, but still needs that extra bit of distance and forgiveness that T100 lacks. Reminiscent of the flagship AP2 model, this iron will give players heightened confidence, improved control, and added yardage.

In the past, the players distance category was the space where our fitters feel they may have missed the mark. The previous generation seemed to lack the quality sound and feel that we have come to expect from Titleist. With stark improvements in these areas, the new T200 should quickly become a staple in the category and maybe Titleist's best seller.

The Ultimate Game Improvement Iron, T350, accomplishes exactly what they say. This iron flies high and goes fast. The new forged face and hollow body design give this iron fantastic feel without an overly bulky look. From the beginner to the seasoned single digit handicapper, this iron can help deliver forgiveness and distance to take your game to the next level.

Whether you are looking for the control of a player's iron, the forgiveness of a game improvement, or something in between, Titleist has you covered. There is truly something for every level of golfer in this new line of irons. Come get fit and see what the right combination is for you. Game on Titleist.
